Red Soap Colour is a colorant used to give soap a red, pink-red, or deep crimson appearance. It is commonly used in bathing soaps, beauty soaps, herbal soaps, transparent soaps, detergent cakes, and decorative handmade soaps.
Types of Red Soap Colour
1. Water-Soluble Red Dyes
- Dissolve completely in water.

How to Use Red Soap Colour in Soap Making
Cold Process Soap
- Take the required quantity of red color powder.
- Mix it with a small amount of water, glycerin, or light oil to form a smooth paste.
- Add the mixture to the soap batter at light trace.
- Blend thoroughly for uniform color distribution.
- Pour into molds and allow curing.
Dosage:
- 0.1% to 1% of total soap weight.
Example:
- For 1 kg soap batch: 1–10 g red soap colour.
Melt and Pour Soap
- Melt the soap base.
- Add red soap colour gradually.
- Stir until the color is evenly distributed.
- Pour into molds.
Dosage:
- 1–5 g per kg of soap base.
Laundry Soap / Detergent Cake
- Prepare a slurry of red color powder in water.
- Add during the soap mixing stage.
- Mix thoroughly until a uniform red shade is obtained.
- Press into bars or cakes.
Dosage:
- 0.2%–0.5% of batch weight.
